Everyone asks for the magic formula or the secret sauce to sales success of winning new orders. The truth is that the sales process can sometimes take ages, days, months and in one sale I was working on two years.
However the decision to buy is made in an instant. It is not when you have had a great meeting, or that you made a great presentation or you put in a great price. The decision is made in an instant when in the clients own mind they
- know they have a problem to solve
- are committed to solving the problem
- are convinced that you can solve the problem
It is then an only then will they make the decision and it is made in an instant!
We all have prospects who we believe would benefit from our products or services but they are not committed to solving them as they don’t see it as a major problem or they are not convinced you can solve the issue.
Your task as a salesperson is to find those problems and
- make sure that they understand they have a problem
- that they want to solve them
- that you can help them solve them
